Gagarin Way
Back in The Lochgelly Centre again to see more work by the local artist I featured yesterday exploring the Antarctic. Ward's fascination with exploration of space on Earth leading to his work on Antarctica resonates beyond earth as is illustrated in his Mixed Media sculpture; "Gagarin Leaving The Biosphere" - the appropriateness of this work is doubly significant since a local nearby community, Lumphinnans, named a street "Gagarin Way" in the 1960's in honour of Russia putting the first human being into Outer Space. It was April 12th 1961 that this was achieved; that is 52 years ago today if my counting is correct! Isn't that a fortunate coincidence for my Journal?
Considering the Blip was shot through the glass of a display unit I do not apologise for its quality-- since anyway few of us can claim to know this does not represent the reality of Spatial Clarity!
