Wet feet

Lake Ainsworth nearby is fringed by a forest of paperbark trees (Melaleuca quinquinervia). After recent heavy rain, the lake level is 1/2 metre higher than usual, and many of the paperbarks have their bases submerged. They can tolerate waterlogged soil. In Florida, they tolerate it so well that they have become a major pest in Everglades National Park. 

Looking at the photo, the words reflection and refraction come back to me from high-school physics.
