Belated birthday

The original plan was for us to drive up to Essex on Monday (14 February) to mark my Mum's 82nd birthday, but the weather wasn't great so my Mum postponed. We rescheduled for today (and the weather was not much better), going for lunch at a bistro by Maylandsea marina. After a quick cup of tea back at my Mum's, we set off for home, but incoming Storm Franklyn caused mayhem. The QE2 Bridge at Dartford was closed, with congestion made worse by a traffic accident, so we diverted to go via the A13 and the Blackwall Tunnel.... Two whole hours later (some 3.5 hours after leaving north Essex) we finally got home.
