Pupu springs

Took Stan the Van for his WOF - he failed on front disc brakes (good to know) and is booked in for Fri. Cloudy /sunny day. We meet up in town with Yola who is staying with friends and we had a big discussion about Hobbits.
The bottom line is;
She is desperate to go to Hobbiton, for a movie set tour that lasts 90 minute and is on the North Island.
It will cost us minimun of $1000 to get us all there, the journey will take 4-5 days - ( but you do a get a pint of beer in The Green Dragon at the end)!
Apparently it is one of the worlds iconic ferry journeys?
There is only one Hobbiton in the world and now might be her only chance

We love Yola
SO, despite many wails from friends not to bother...we're going on the road again next week and now the decision is made it feels fine (Hubs might not completely agree, but he'll enjoy himself enough).
Walked around Pupu Springs. The source of a large river near Takaka. It just quietly bubbles up through the ground right here. For the size of the river is was incredibly calm and tranquil, but very cold.
