Birthday girl!

Today was spent in the car, driving up to visit our daughter Laura in Wausau Wisconsin, about a 9 hour drive! The reason for our visit, so close on the heels of our Florida trip, was to help her celebrate her birthday, and take her some more things that she wasn’t able to fit in the car back in December. We were on the road by about 9.20, and with a one hour’s time difference, giving us an extra hour, we arrived about 4.30 pm. The route takes you up through Indianapolis, skirts to the west of Chicago, and then up into rural Wisconsin. Fortunately the weather was good and we experienced no major delays. Since we arrived a bit earlier than Laura had been expecting, she told us to meet her at the office in downtown Wausau, and she showed us where she works and got to briefly meet a couple of her colleagues - it’s only a small organisation. In the evening we went to a brew pub she had been to on her own on News Years Eve, since she hadn’t received any other invite, having arrived only a couple of days before. The food was actually very good - this was the profiteroles dessert which we all shared!
