Damp Pitstop

As we were on a journey south with Richard having to do all the driving a pitstop was required.

Neither of us had visited Bolsover castle before and it was a short detour off the M1. Although damp it was not raining too heavily and we could take Jet with us for a wander in the grounds.

Think a return journey in better weather may be required to see it at its best. However it certainly has a prominent position on the hillside. It was built in the seventeenth century and had a reputation for lavish parties. I was quite taken with the well preserved indoor riding school.

Definitely worth the pitstop.
