Protective
This year, following a generally mild winter, the frogs started spawning early. We found the first two clumps in our small, south-facing pond the morning after Storm Eunice (on 19th February) and they have been laying additional clumps steadily ever since. The cooler, north-facing pond is now favoured, and this is where I photographed this individual on another damp and dreary day.
I'm busy report writing again, but it's hard to stop myself from doom-scrolling. I just feel so sad for both the Ukrainian and those ordinary Russians who will be the ones who suffer from the necessary financial sanctions. What a mess...
