Ellon Castle

Built in the 18th century Ellon Castle was in effect a massive classical mansion incorporating an earlier fortalice. Now only the facade remains, the back portion having been blown up in 1851 to enable a drive to be formed to a house which has seen been demolished. At that time the offices were altered to form the pleasing Neo Georgian House seen in the extra.
