Last chance to see
The Joan Eardley exhibition at Perth Museum. She was a Scottish painter who began her career painting children in the Townhead area of Glasgow, a run down area. Later, when she was exhibiting in Aberdeen she came down with mumps and moved to the nearby village of Catterline to recover and fell in love with the place. Many of her paintings are of Catterline and surrounding coast. I used to visit Catterline a lot when I was a student at Aberdeen Uni because it was close to some excellent birdwatching cliffs, and because the pub there was famous for its sticky toffee pudding :)
In extras is Joan Eardley a painting called Philip the Fat Boy. I wonder where Philip is now, he must be in his seventies. I hope he got over being painted and named this way.
