2617. Harris Hawk

This absolute beauty was with his handler patrolling the area around Granville Island, Vancouver.  His job is to scare the seagulls away and stop them pestering people who are eating outside nearby.  His handler who was from a company called “Raptors”, stopped to chat with us and allowed me to take a photo or two.  He did say that the bird was being bothered by crows who clearly didn’t like him one bit!

Had a lovely morning visiting Granville Island and buying a few supplies from the food market as well as a couple of wee gifts to take home for the grandkids.

We passed a huge demonstration against the Russian invasion of Ukraine as we got off the bus and walked back to our hotel.
