The one with inappropriate footwear

We met #3 daughter’s friend Vicky and her boy at Beadnell then walked to Seahouses. It took ages as the boys jumped about on the rocks. We had to cross a little stream as it headed out to sea but daughter had on city boots. A friend indeed - with much hilarity, Vicky gave her a piggyback.

We got fish and chips for lunch - the others ate theirs at Vicky’s sister’s house but we declined the invitation. I’m still testing negative and it’s probably only a cold, but still, I don’t want to pass anything on. We found a bench by the harbour to eat ours then walked back to the car.

I spent a fair bit of the walk in conversation with Nathaniel. He’s disappointed they are moving on to the Vikings in History as he was looking forward to the Ancient Greeks. We had a chat about Troy, Hercules, Mt Olympus, city states, Sparta,Temple of Zeus. (He’d bought a book about it with his birthday money - he decided NU t shirts were a rip off at £40.). We didn’t drift off into football much apart from him telling me he got to sit in Bobby Robson’s chair on his tour of NUFC.
