Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Ocean in View, Oh the Joy!

Honestly, neither of us can get enough of the ocean. So this morning Mr. Fun did not have to report in to anywhere, and I do work Mondays, but not in the classroom. I grade papers, prep for classes, usually attend an afternoon meeting, and then late (8:30-10:30 p.m.) I do online office hours in a chat room (students like late hours). So we took the casual, lack of appointments morning, and snuck-off to the coast for breakfast right above the sand and surf (see middle photo).

In the top two photos we are driving south on Pacific Coast Highway--just entering the city limits of Laguna Beach. The bottom two frames are almost the same location as we are driving north coming back from breakfast and soon to turn east toward the Inland Empire (which is what our region is called).

We made two stops after breakfast, one to the little used book store operated by Friends of the Laguna Beach Library and the other to the Friends of the Newport Beach Library. We love books, CDs, and DVDs and usually find some treasure or several for cheap in those places, and of course we did today as usual. But honestly, the last thing we need is another book or magazine or another CD, DVD (or video or tape).

Once we got back home, I've spent the rest of the day doing my school duties. Now it is late and time to crawl in bed and get some shut-eye so I can be bright-eyed when the morning arrives.

Oh, one more thought -- thank YOU to everyone who commented on Tim's shoes. I purposely did not mention them just to see if anyone of you would. I thought the shoes were an item of interest, but didn't know if anyone else would think so. One generous church couple bought Tim two suits so he could dress-up (which is certainly not mandatory at our little church), but it is becoming. And I have been told by good authority that Tim does have shoes to go with the suits, so I'm not sure why he doesn't wear them. I don't know that he'll ever see this blip of himself or your comments, but he does know I blip and could look at this if he wanted to. I think the shoes are just his way of flaunting his youth. Don't you just hate it when the young flaunt their youthfulness! ;-) When I was young, we were not suppose to flaunt our youth. I learned to flaunt after it was too late! 8-) So good for Tim!

Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
