Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

13 Days till the Wedding

Tim, the college intern, did the preaching this morning at church. Yesterday his fiancé, Mollie, graduated from California Baptist University in Riverside. Tim is now entering his junior year at the same institution. Their wedding will be May 16th. So I kidded Tim this morning that he's looking more and more like a groom.

Tim & Mollie are from Northern California, so they will be going north for their wedding. They are two really nice kids. I know they are really adults, but gosh they seem so young and innocent. They both want to be missionaries. He wants to go to Europe. She wants to go to China. That already sounds like a marriage made in Heaven, doesn't it? Yes, they've got some talking to do. Their opposites have attracted them to each other. Now they'll have to learn how to make those opposites work for them in day-to-day living. So in several years I'll let you know where they've ventured off to--Europe or China.

Tim's family--his parents, grandparents, and his sister--were at Mollie's graduation yesterday, and they were all in church this morning to hear Tim preach. He chose Matthew 5 starting at verse 15 for his text. So he spoke about not putting our light under a basket, but putting it on a lamp stand. When Tim stepped up to the front to begin his message, he started singing the children's song "This little light of mine." Immediately all the adults joined in. Forty minutes later Tim ended with everyone singing "This little light of mine." I think no one left without knowing the point of Tim's message.

I hope you've had a good weekend. The sun has now set over Southern California. The lights of our city are twinkling off in the distance. The first full week of May will arrive soon. We'll all be putting on our helmets, buckling our seat belts, and starting our engines. I believe the week will be filled with potential and opportunities.

So good night for now.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
