In The Pink
After all the wild weather and yesterday's 'walk around the block' we really felt we needed to get outside for a bit longer now that there was some respite.
We were going to take a trip to Camber Sands but the fact that we had woken up to a gloomy and rather unremittingly grey day and that the total journey would be over two hours we decided to stay closer to home. So we headed back to Lower Upnor for a walk along the shoreline.
Unlike last time the tide was out and we did get to amble past the boatyards and along the water's edge. Unfortunately, the weather had not improved, the wind had picked up again and I had seen no photographic opportunities at all - until we were almost back at the car and I spotted this deflated pink balloon caught up in a spiky thicket. I really like the pop of colour against that grey sky and the tower blocks on the opposite shoreline.
A bit windblown, but glad we had inhaled some proper fresh air, we headed back to Maidstone for a pint and a some chips at our favourite pub and then a visit to the record shop to buy some new music - Lady Blackbird, Hooray for The Riff Raff, Alt J and The Delines - on CD of course!
