Catching the Light

Catching the sun was a bit of an effort today and with the yellow weather warning on my phone for tonight and tomorrow, it might get much harder.

My iBook Pro which is an old hand down from HL and not therefore in the first flush of youth, had what I can only describe as a stroke this morning. Nothing would work - it wouldn’t open properly, it wouldn’t shut down , the curser shot about the screen randomly and a little coloured wheel appeared at intervals. In the end I shut the lid in disgust and went online to look at a replacement and was horrified at the prices.
Later, I lifted the lid again and the patient had recovered and remarkably all was well. Very strange.

Our book group met for its first afternoon meeting ever today. The book under discussion was Piranesi by Susannah Clarke. Only one of our members thought it a good read. The rest of us thought it was either a writing about someone having a nervous breakdown or under the influence of hard drugs. Personally I couldn’t make head nor tail of it despite the glowing reports it has had. Still there was a good discussion on what we thought it was meant to be about….and the hostess’s cheese cake was to die for!
