We left Bristol in the morning, and spent the day in Bath on the way back to London... It was a very wet day, but we managed to shelter in Bath Abbey, Sally Lunn's teahouse, and the Fashion Museum under the Assembly Rooms. We explored the (sometimes wet, sometimes sunny) limestone-lined streets between those indoor spells, and felt like we'd well and truly done Bath in a few hours... The steep entrance (fee) put us off entering another headline 19th Century attraction ("Roman" Baths this time), but Im peered in through a street-level balustrade and I enjoyed photographing a pigeon bathing in a puddle in front of the baths, which we reckoned represented much better value.
Excellent getaway; I'll look forward to revisiting Bristol some day!
