A Twilight Munch With Punch

Today was still wild and windy but a notch down on yesterday so we decided to stay indoors until the conditions had abated a bit further. We (me and my brother) eventually went for a walk just as the light was beginning to fade - we needed some fresh air (or very fresh air in this case!) as we had been cooped up for a day and a half.
We decided to risk a small circuitous route to Preston Hall and back and see if we could get some images before the light faded completely and to check how the local environment had fared following all that wild weather. Mostly it had stood up pretty well apart from some fairly extensive damage to the huge Cedar trees in the grounds of Preston Hall itself. It was too dark to get a clear shot of them but they might well be the subject of a future blip.
We were both surprised by how many different sights we saw that would make acceptable images on such a short walk so we captured quite a few shots between us. Not all of them bore closer scrutiny once we got back home but we were both happy with the results and thoroughly enjoyed our very windswept stroll.
My main shot was taken on the main driveway to Preston Hall and shows this abandoned shopping trolley (not sure if it had actually been blown there by the storm!) with the catchy advertising logo "Munch With Punch" - I like the splash of colour against that still very brooding sky and the silhouetted figure (my brother again obliged as a model).
My extra is some local 'street art' - well actually it's just a paint sprayed white arrow on a pavement pointing towards a cracked part of a nearby road surface that is due for repair, but it works for me! :-)
Once we were back indoors it was time to watch another edition of 80's Greatest Pop Videos on Channel 5 with a large glass of wine. Today's episode had reached 1982 - Duran Duran, Kid Creole, Toni Basil, The Jam, Haircut 100, Bucks Fizz, The Belle Stars, Tears for Fears, ABC, Musical Youth, Culture Club...an hour and half of glorious pop nostalgia!
