Packing the car

We had to be out of the Craster house by 10am but we all managed to be organised to do so, then we headed off in different directions.
As we were nearly halfway to Lincoln we travelled down so we could visit Mum in the nursing home. It was bright and breezy when we left but we hadn't got far south when the rain started, heavily but fortunately the wind dropped.
Mum is very frail but we had a couple of hours with her and then went to my brother's for a meal. He had some of Mum's things she'd brought from Keswick and no longer needed and I was to have the desk (handmade in cherry wood I think Mum said and she'd been telling people to make sure I got it!) and we were able to fit it in the car to bring home.
We didn't stay with him this time but in a Travelodge not far from the nursing home - it had a very comfortable bed but rubbish internet connection (they did say when we booked).
