Unexpected hope

Last year a friend sent me some rooted cuttings from one of her houseplants. It wasn't a good year in our household and like a lot of other things, they were neglected and died.  Today the weather was so miserable, I stayed at home and decided to do houseplant maintenance, repotting and pruning as needed.
I emptied the dead cuttings from the pots and found these rhizomes. Small life capsules and unexpected hope of resurrection. 
They are now repotted and I'm hoping...
