Trees in Fairmilehead Park
A bit of crisp winter weather today. Icy in places, so have to be careful walking as it is melting slowly. That water on ice is pretty treacherous. Three photos from the morning walk. Extra 1 of West Lomond Hill, Extra 2 of Allermuir Hill were taken from the Road to Swanston and the Pentlands. (Which is a footpath that follows the route Robert. Louis Stevenson used to take as a child to the summer house from Colinton to Swanston) The main blip is my time lapse project of the trees in Fairmilehead Park. Quite icy on the path heading up the hill, so I opt for the grass, as the mud is quite solid. Extra 3 was taken from the house shows a view of the Ochil Hills.
On the afternoon walk to Morningside to get weekend groceries, I can just about see the snowline on the hills in Fife. Not much shopping to get today, so once home, it is around the park to get afternoon coffee and cake from the Italian café. Where the sun hasn't hit the path, there are still some ice crystals left from the morning's freeze. Still quite light at 16:50.
Enjoyed a day of winter today. It'll be mostly gone by tomorrow as overnight rain and mild conditions will melt most of the snow and ice..
