Apples and a view

Long ago a discarded apple core resulted in this tree. Either thrown from a car on the summit road, or discarded by a walker on the Crater Rim Walkway. It's down a steep bank and not easily accessible.

The strapping on my knee definitely helps going down hill. But according to what my physio spelled out, it hasn't healed sufficiently for me to tramp 7 + hours next weekend.

It was still a pleasant morning on the hills, quite stunning after last evening's wind and rain.
