Renewal Day

Within 90 days of my first two years here, I'm required to submit a renewal application for my Green Card to the Department of Homeland Security. So I'm about 6 weeks into the 90 days, and really needed to get it going, so spent a bit of the day doing that.

Lots of paperwork (again), more money (again), and a bulging envelope to document my life in this country with my wife.

With any luck I'll get a "in progress" note in the next couple of weeks which will extend my Green Card for 1 year whilst they process the real 10 year renewal. Essentially it's an extension.

Popped into Lowes to get the stuff going for Manchester St, and quickly had a nose round Border whilst I was up there. Spiderman who is doing the painting seems to be getting along quite nicely with it all. But he has run out of paint.

It's amazing what a coat of paint starts to do for rooms - totally kills the smells in that room for a start.

Tomorrow he starts on Manchester, whilst I round up all the trash at Gordon for next weeks bin day. And then get ready for the wedding later this week as well. One of my nieces is getting married...aww...

Tonight I was just getting cameras charged up and had a look in the bag to see what I needed. Never thought my bag would get a bit small though, what with 3 oddball lenses, two Canon 400Ds, a Canon 50D, a Tokina 11-16 and a Canon 15-85....and heaven knows how many batteries and different chargers. Not to mention at least one pocket video camera tucked away somewhere. And the ND grad filters plus the Cokin frames....the bag is starting to look a bit cramped, and packing it is a game of Tetris these days.
