Excursion

Nose to nose at Chester, 47593 Galloway Princess and the more prosaically named D1924 Crewe Diesel Depot (extras) were pulling a Statesman excursion train to Appleby. Both locos are more or less the same age as me.

My own excursion had been in the opposite direction as I made my delayed journey across to Wales. There was still lots of disruption and it ended up taking twice as long as usual, but at least I have made it across for a short visit to my Mum’s.
