On the beach

The day started bright and showery without much wind and we all went into Alnwick to the secondhand bookshop. After a good wander we managed to round up everyone and make our purchases before going into the town, where we had lunch.
It was still quite bright when we got back to the house, though the wind was getting up, and daughter and I decided to go for a walk along the coast path. At 2 miles we decided to go a bit further - and then the weather deteriorated. Undeterred we took to the beach briefly but then got back as quickly as we could as the sleet/wet snow was getting unpleasant.
It was my turn to make the meal so I got that in the oven while some of the others played riotous games.
