For reasons... I'm trying to come up with a 'Periodic Table' for the games collection.  

First off this means grouping games into some set of categories.

By the time I've looked at length, weight, primary mechanism, luck vs skill, cooperation vs. conflict, theme, player count, ... I spend more time looking for 7-dimensional paper than achieving anything useful.
