Off road, high up

A wonderful day, with such contrasts and great company.

Starting at Tabua we headed up to the plateau. My blip is the terrain, colours and shapes as we looked back over the south of the island, Ribeira Brava and Serra d’Agua…..

Then we returned to the Parque Florestal, with the ancient Laurissilva forest, the Tis trees. Magnificent (extra)

We descended to Ribeira de Janela and then for lunch in Porto Moniz.

I shouldn’t mention huge waves on the day Storm Eunice struck the UK, but I’ve never seen anything like the drama of the sea around the lava pools (extra)

It’s been fun.
