After the rain

A walking centred day, taking advantage of a small weather window. The blip is one of the many temporary ponds that have appeared over the last couple of days, this one is at the top of the field leading down to the Fisherman’s Bothy on Glanderston Reservoir. Although the wind speed was only 20 mph, from the west, it felt very gusty and I’m not convinced that we will manage to get to the top of The Craigie on Monday when similar speeds are expected. Anyway that’s the risk assessment done, in more or less decent weather.

Drove home listening to Clare Boulding’s Ramblings. I am reliably informed, much to my disappointment, that she doesn’t actually do the walks, or at least not the complete route.

Then an interesting zoom session with Dee Heddon, Chair in Drama at Glasgow University who has a research interest in walking, well-being and community during Covid. An interesting opportunity to “road test” some of the walks submitted for The Walkbook: Recipes for walking and wellbeing. I love that some of the walks are walks you can do without leaving the house. I realise that some of my own walking /covid preoccupations were so not so crazy after all.
