Romance Was Born

To the Jeffrey Smart exhibition at the NGA, plus one celebrating women artists and some contemporary Aboriginal art. (I deleted an extra of a couple of shellwork pieces.)

On the way we stopped at Sutton Forest. The convict ancestor was living here when he and a woman convict applied to marry in the 1830s. The wedding would have been in the local Anglican church (extra), but they were refused permission.

Very pleased to find a convivial small bar in Canberra.
