Frozen Light
I liked the sunlight catching the reeds this afternoon. The sun itself was way too bright, so I placed it just out of shot. Warm tones in the sky relate to the highlights in the foreground giving the eye a direction. The sun's low angle brought out the texture of the ice and gave it a lovely pinkish hue.
Although my capture was a 3:2 which included more sky, the area on the right looked too empty and, in the end, I preferred a 16:9 aspect emphasizing the expanse of the far shoreline.
The new select sky mask in Lr works very nicely.
