Casualty

After any period of strong winds, I like to walk the beach to see what has been blown up onto the shore.

A first for me today. A red deer, most likely from Caithness or Sutherland. The poor thing must have come across the Pentland Firth in the gales. At first I couldn't work out what I was seeing, so had to get down the cliff. Lottie was very good and kept her distance. I posted it on the local wildlife FB page and it seems they do occasionally end up here, but not a common sight. It is the first  one I've seen in 45 years of beach walking.
