In A Previous Life

Sunny but cold, high of 32 deg F and expected low of 22 deg F. Momma had her physical exam today. Seems she is pretty healthy, her magnesium is a little low, otherwise, her blood tests were perfect and the doc was pleased with her overall health. On the way home after dropping her at her house, I stopped in St. Mary’s City to take a few photos of the church we attended for over 20 years. It is one of the newer and smaller church buildings in our county named for the patron saint of music as requested by the lady who donated the land. She may have also been instrumental in the more modern design of the church. St. Cecilia’s was dedicated in 1975 and now shares a priest with St. Peter Claver parish (that I highlighted previously). The pastor is also the chaplain to St. Mary’s College that adjoins the church property. My children received several of their first sacraments there. We always had wonderful pastors and maintained a good relationship, even after we moved, with our last priest until he passed. Eerily, hubby dreamed of him the night he died, before we were informed. Hubby assembled his new bike while I was gone and took it for a successful short first ride. It is simply too cold for us to ride together today. We have a quiet St. Valentine’s evening planned, and have tons of leftovers so I’ll not have to cook. Wishing you a pleasant day also. Only 21 new COVID cases today! Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “Churches provide a place of gathering for people who share common beliefs, support and encouragement for each other in faith, a place to find insight into and teaching about God’s Word, and they provide a time and place where people can leave the world behind and focus only on their spiritual relationship with God.” - Mary C. Neal, MD
