Not Part of the Plan
Sunny with a beautiful blue sky but cold, high of 37 deg F with forecasted low of 30 deg F. It was 22 deg when we got up this morning. Much of our day was spent in the car. I had an eye appointment and had to collect my records from the previous optometrist’s office. My exam was delayed an hour due to an eye emergency so I had loads of time to search for new frames. We dropped off some restaurant gift cards for a family whose child has leukemia. Hubby and I picked up groceries, meds, and a few clothes items on sale. We had subs for lunch. We dropped off the grands’ Valentines gifts and visited with each family. During all our activities, we were chatting with Kristen and Sky (through her tears because she was in extreme pain) about the status of her injury at school on her way into the building. The urgent care doctor thought the ankle was fractured. The subsequent orthopedic specialist says she injured the exact same bone she broke a few years ago but he isn’t positive it has a new break. He will re-X-ray it again next week, the swelling may have interfered with an accurate reading. Regardless, she must wear that knee high protective boot, use crutches and is unable to practice for her dance competitions that start the first week of March. What a disappointment, mostly to the instructor who did not take the news well. Too bad, it was an accident for crying out loud. We came home, put away our treasures and hit the recliner. Never a dull moment in a large family. Wishing you a calm week. There were 37 new COVID cases in our county. Thanks for the visit.
