Piglets

Elsbeth the young pig has been learning how to be a mother this week. She has four piglets that are feeding and moving around quickly. We think they may have been slightly premature because the milk was slow to catch up. Elsbeth came to live at the Zoo already expecting piglets in December and her due dates were dubious. They were given as the beginning of January but the piglets in fact arrived in February.
They are being left alone to enjoy being a family but are checked each day whilst their mother is eating her food outside the hut.
