Fishermans quay
Today, Rich went for his vaccination, afterwards we drove back through town and thought that low tide at the fisherman's quay looked bright and cheerful. There wasn't much activity, I think that the fishermen are allowed to go fishing again now. One of the businesses which deliver food to homes during this time is up on the quay with his van waiting for fresh fish. During normal times this business deliver food to restaurants and hotels.
All the roads and car parks in town are very empty. It feels very eerie with nobody around at all. It was so cold with no warming sunshine, we went home too and drank hot tea!
We caught up on all the pottery throw down episodes and enjoyed some time reading.
Thankfully the numbers here have dropped again as 52 more people have recovered. Sadly there has been 7 more positives from contacts and one infection in the community. The testing team are doing something called surge testing all weekend in order to find pockets of infection where they feel there may be a problem. Essential workers are being tested often too. I think they are hopeful that the community ones will cease very soon. So we currently have 242 active cases, down from about 368 at the peak.
