Probably
I spent some time in Coventry, staying overnight at a hotel in part of what used to be the Technical College, where my father studied over sixty a few years ago. Built in 1935 the building has some fine Art Deco features, including a superb glazed ceiling over a stairwell.
I also walked along Spon Street, where some of the City's small number of surviving medieval buildings can be seen, these mostly dating from the 14th Century.
I also found this mural in Starley Road. The road was named after James Starley, said to be founder of the bicycle industry and, I was always told as a child, a 19th Century ancestor of mine. The mural is explained here.
I was sadddened by the news of street celebrations after the death of Mrs T. Although I did not like her or her politics, the idea that people in a supposedly civilised country would sing and dance in the streets at news of her death was somewhat nauseating. I was always taught to follow the maxim "If you can't say somethin' nice, don't say nothin' at all"
