Polruan Block-house

I've been a bit under the weather today following yesterday's exertions. It was probably the beer last night which is never a good idea in view of my Barrett's. We managed to get a nice meal in one of our favourite places in Fowey. Initially they said they were full, then table 15 was available and when we turned that down table 11 became free, with a window view and nicely distanced from the other diners.

We haven't been out anywhere today though so my blip is another shot from the balcony, looking across the river to the 15th century block-house which was constructed to prevent access to the river and harbour after the invasion of Fowey by the French navy. There is a sister blockhouse on the Fowey side of the river just up from where we are staying. A chain was slung between them at times of danger to prevent the threat of further invasion.

There hasn't been much traffic on the river today. I've put an extra of a yacht which seemed to be coping OK with the rough water, though I'm glad I wasn't on it the way I have been feeling today.

And I couldn't resist an extra of mrsfb with the beer in question. She wasn't drinking it of course.
