Anhinga

A disappointing day weather wise today, but we got out for a bike ride after breakfast, hoping we would make it back before expected rain around lunchtime. We cycled to Bailey’s tract preserve. On previous visits later in the year, this has been a good place to see alligators, but given the cool temperatures, and lack of sun, I wasn’t really expecting to see them today, and I was right. However this male Anhinga posed nicely for me, though they look even more impressive when they have their wings out to dry. We did make it back in the dry, but it started raining an hour or so later, and continued into the evening, so we had a quiet afternoon at the condo, knitting (for me) and reading.
