Sassongher from Pralongia

The most perfect weather. Beautiful blue skies and strong sunshine. We walked the Panorama Way on the Prolongia plateau from the top of the lift at Piz La Ila to the Pralongia Refugio where we stopped for lunch.

It was a true panoramic walk along the ridge with majestic mountains serrating the sky on both sides. We took it slowly to soak in the magnificence of the views in all directions.

From the Pralongia Refugio we meandered back down to Corvara having to cross a few pistes on the way.

We wore snowshoes most of the way as the snow was often deep with an icy crust. It was a relief to get them off at the end of the 7 miles. Apple strudel in Corvara went a long way to restoring our energy.
