The accidental finding

Strange sky

View over the rooftops to a hill beyond, snapped in workplace grounds. I had to get out of the room at lunchtime because several people were crying or screaming at once. Thank goodness for a tree and a bench!

I stayed on to help colleagues because we were short staffed, and my afternoon childcare shift had been postponed. That was certainly draining!

On the way home a well known person from our street shuffled up to me and asked me to help him walk home. I understand that he has several medical conditions as well as a drinking problem. I really didn't want to help him because he insists on walking IN the road, which is busy at this time of day, and keeps stopping to hitch up his trousers.
We'd got nearly all the way home when he fell, with his legs sticking out into the road.

I could not get him up on my own. Phoned home, but CS didn't reply. Passers-by did not want to know. In the end, I ran home and got CS. Between the two of us, we still couldn't get him up. I didn't want to call an ambulance because they take so long to come. There was no visible  sign of damage to the man. In the end, another woman stopped and offered to help. With her no-nonsense manner, she helped us get him up and along the road to his bungalow, where we left him on the sofa.

Then I sat on my own sofa and fell asleep during a quiz show! I'm off to London tonght. I shall explain more later.
