T-Wood and Caerketton Craigs

A cold star to the morning. A Spokes Ride today, but yesterday's forecast of Sunday morning, heavy snow / sleet showers, might put people off. When I get to the start there is one person there. As the most up to date forecast is bad for the afternoon I do a short bike ride, heading west along the water of Leith, passing Murrayfield, the cycle path to Hermiston and on to the canal path as far as Gogarmuir Road, where we turned off the path to head back to Edinburgh.

On the return section of the ride we were blown along to Gogar Station Road, cycle through Heriot Watt University, through Baberton and the back road in to Colinton. Extra 1 is taken from the footbridge over the Water of Leith. Once through Colinton, we head to Firrhill and the end of the ride. I head back to Colinton and home via Redford Road to New Swanston to make I sure I get at least 40km cycling for Sunday.

Route can be seen at Relive here.

After lunch, my partner and I head up Swanston for a walk. The main blip was taken above the village just before a small snow shower arrived. The snow was fine as we then walked to Lothianburn, and the snow was on our back. No views of East Lothian or the Ochil Hills today. Walking back to Swanston Road, the snow peps up for a while, stinging the face a bit. We get home not too damp though.
