A Box

A Yew top on a Cherry body.
The top should have been a spinning top but things conspired against that happening.
I also polished up an an old (broken) African Blackwood pot. I think I have worked out how I want to deal with the misshapen top - but that is for another day.

The tulip had some pictures taken, as did an old bottle which I am sure people 'in the know' will recognise as a Harris Gin bottle - great for taking abstract pictures of. There are another couple of shots over there  - or the whole series as a slide show Here.

I felt old this afternoon after binge watching stuff about Fleetwood Mac.
What really threw me was realising that I knew the music of some of the members before they even joined to create the group. I am so glad that we got the chance to see them when they were on tour about 5 years ago (before Mr Buckingham got sacked). They may be getting on but my word they could still produce the goods.

This evening the chicken was put in the oven to roast and when it came time to put in the potatoes we found that the oven had stopped working. Well, the thermostat had - the fan and lights etc were still working.
So it was taken round to Bags to cook it for us (after I had scraped the ice off the car...doesn't bode well for my deliveries tomorrow)
They had just finished their chicken and the monsters were just starting to make something for desert.
When I went back to collect it the monsters were tucking into a pile of Squirrel's fabulous waffles (she really does make a splendid waffle).

On arriving home I found SWMBO had turned on the oven again and it was working!!!! It looks like it might be a loose connection and my jiggling about with the control panel to try and see how it comes off to replace the thermostat.
