Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Present for Grandma!

Sunday today so church and a busy day for me.
Today was our first day of having servers assisting at the service since the restrictions began two years ago. I was on duty, so in my case it was my first time of serving with our new Rector - who started two years ago next week, at a time when I was in India. All went smoothly and it was so good to be taking an active part once again. It was also my week to do the prayers so I was busy! We marked the 70 years since the Queen's accession and also noted that for the Queen, it was the anniversary of the death of her father at a relatively young age.
When we got home, Eilidh arrived, she was spending time with us while Isobel had her skiing lesson - no need for her to hang about at Hillend in the freezing cold for an hour if she didn't have to.
Isobel came to the door to drop her off and to give me a cake which she and her daddy had baked for me, she gave me a hug too! :-) Chocolate cake with sprinkles, perfect!
After they'd gone Eilidh and I got to work in the kitchen and knocked up some chocolate Nutella cookies, so a box of them has gone home in return.
Other than that I did some batch cooking and already the day has gone. It's been a strange day, cold and sunny with occasional snow, hail and rain showers. A typical Edinburgh February day in fact.
Stay safe folks
