Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

An exciting day…

Not only did I solve Wordle in two goes, a man with a big parcel appeared at the gate, and another man appeared with a smaller parcel, but… Scotland beat England in the rugby! (And Ireland beat Wales).

Yes, Chap no 2 from yesterday was true to his promise of sending us a brand new, top-of-the-range coffee machine! Then another parcel arrived with a variety of pods. What service! I was a wee bit reluctant to open it up and use it, in case they rang and said they’d made a mistake and could we send it back, but JR had it set up in a flash. And it’s gorgeous, with a milk frother too.

Elizabeth came to collect Archie for a walk, though it was pretty dreich. So dreich that he had to wear his coat, but we had to catch him first for that. What a fuss he makes! Actually, most of their walk was dry(ish), but they did get soaked at the end. (He looks SO happy.LOL)

I settled down to watch TWO games of rugby. Perfect on such a miserable day. The Six Nations Tournament is so good because any of the teams could win. Well, Italy usually doesn’t win, but this competition is helping them develop their game. And anyway, the ‘wooden spoon’ used to be Scotland’s all-too-regular prize.

Tomorrow will be even dreicher, so I’ve booked the £5 afternoon movies. I’ve double-checked the day and the movie, after the last debacle…
