Llama Statues in Roberts Park, Saltaire
These magnificent llamas stand in Roberts Park In Saltaire, a Victorian model village founded in 1851 by Sir Titus Salt, and now a designated Unesco World Heritage site. They are a tribute to the animals that contributed much to the success of the textile industry in the area, particularly Salts Mill, the huge mill complex round which the entire village was constructed and where wool and woollen cloth was produced from their very soft, lanolin-free wool.
