A pretty successful fixing day:
-Sewing machine (mostly mechanical, so straightforward.)
-Text message failure on phone. This took six calls to the provider, during which they said they would text me a new code, and later, they would text me a short survey to complete (!) 
-A new ignition key for the car, approx 15 euros instead of the 300 euros or so the main dealer would have wanted.
The car passed its annual MOT test as well.
The blip is the ferry to Lundy Island with the sun peeping through the hawsehole (I had to look that name up.)
