Woodland pig.
Another walk in the woods but a different woodland today.
We ( 7 ladies, 2 dogs and 1 child) walked from Barden Bridge along the River Wharfe through Strid woods to the Cavendish Pavillion and back. Just beyond the Pavillion is a woodland craft stall selling seats, benches and various woodland animals this pig took my fancy particularly with his hairy back!
It is a walk the ladies usually do at half terms and other school holidays and it was Easter 2012 when I last did it. It was cold then with snow on the hills but at least we had sun, today was just very cold and dull with a threat of rain.
No real signs of Spring (I'm sure last year there were Bluebells much in evidence) except these wild primroses which I always find a joy to see.
Non the less we enjoyed a good walk followed, as usual by tea and scones at Tea rooms in Bolton Abbey.
Thanks ladies for your company and especially Wilsdenwalker for the lift.
