King Of His World

My little kingfisher friend seemed determined to get as high as he could to survey his kingdom.  He was too far away for anything other than this long shot but I could hear him chattering all the way.  He lets himself be known with his "typerwriter" chatter so I always know when he's around but he seldom positions himself favorably for a photo and catching him in flight is a real challenge.  Nevertheless, I liked this photo as I got the feeling he was quite happy at the top of that dead tree and I was happy too.
