Armadillo!

Birthday party day today.  The eldest went to one, the youngest went to another - joined later by the eldest.  The logistics were a little complicated, but it all worked out just fine.  The party the eldest went to was a trip to a local zoo and a picnic (on a perfect day for it!) The zoo is great, stick insects and scorpions (!) were brought out for the four children, the man cleaning the anaconda tank let the children feel the skin that had just been shed, thankfully keeping an eye on the tank and moving the anaconda on away from the open door.  The potential highlight was a very friendly armadillo who loves nothing more than sitting on his keepers lap.  The eldest also helped the maintenance chap build a new turtle nursery for two turtles that had been received with no notice (the zoo also serves as a rescue centre).

The husband accompanied the youngest to his disco party - lots of fun and really lovely to pop in to collect them and see all the class mates having a lovely time.

Today I'm grateful for:
Birthday parties, they are so important and there have been very few due to covid
