Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Done!

Saturday today, hooray! But what a day! We seem to have escaped unscathed from the high winds, but they were certainly strong: lorries blown over on the M74; power lines down on the A1; power off in the north and trees down in parks and woodland across the country. Somebody in our local Facebook group was looking to borrow a chain saw to remove a tree which has blown down and is resting on their house!!!

When I got up this morning I decided it really was time to clean out the fish tank, no more excuses when I didn't intend to go out all day.

That was accomplished by lunchtime and next were the marmalade oranges which had been shouting to me for the last two weeks. I'd left them on the kitchen work surface so that I couldn't forget about them, i didn't forget, but I did manage to ignore them. Today though, I set to. Happily the marmalade set too,! so I could move onto my next task!

This was definitely a pleasant one though, roast lamb with roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese!

In spite of the wind, or perhaps because of it, It was a productive day, I got lots done and we are ready to relax in front of The Tourist. We had just settled down to watch it last night, when my phone rang. We'd forgotten we were playing bridge - oops. Fortunately it didn't take long to log into Zoom and Bridge base and we had a very pleasant evening.

I forgot to include yesterday's Art Quiz until quite late last night. Here it is again for those of you who missed it. It's only done monthly now so less easy to remember. I was delighted to get 9/10.

Keep safe folks, the family are finally all covid clear now. You may be free to test after 6 days, but it actually took longer than that for the adults so don't assume a week will be enough.
