Through The Autism Lens

Autism MYTH! #2

Autistic children cannot feel or express love or empathy

This, for ME is very untrue. I love my Mom, Dad and family very much.
I may not say it very often, if at all. But I really do love them.

I also really love Ice Cream, Rocket Lollies and Pasta & Tuna in the same way! You may laugh/giggle, but this is very TRUE!
My definition of love is very different from what people expect because unlike them, I can have a real affection for an object just as much as I can for my family or my pets and they think it's silly.

I don't care what they think, and that's very true as well. I do care and I DO have feelings but I honestly do not care what other people think of me.

I am who I am, take it or leave it but do not expect me to change to suit your needs or 'fit in' because it isn't going to happen.

I found this Daisy on the floor of the field, someone had picked it and dropped it. I picked it up and Mom managed to quickly snap this picture (she's getting sneaky with that long lens of hers!!). It made me feel sad to think that it would now die because someone had picked it and left it there.

We took it home with us and put it in some water. I know it won't last, but at least it will have a few more days to live than it would have done where it was left.
